The Girl Genius: Queens and Pirates Kickstarter Campaign is Live!

Hello again, everyone--

We are currently running the campaign for our next Girl Genius book:  Queens and Pirates. The campaign has funded, and we have met our first two stretch goals (now, everyone who is getting a book will also get the PDF version, and the Envelope of Madness will include a Queens and Pirates sticker.) We plan to have lots of new stretch goals posted very soon, hopefully before we have passed the next one.

We will also soon be revealing the design for the new medal, which will commend the wearer for being a First Class Scallywag!  Watch the campaign site or the Girl Genius Online webcomic site for the new design. 

When you visit the new Kickstarter, don't forget to scroll down to the bottom of the page, where I've put up a special downloadable wallpaper as thanks for visiting. It's there for everyone, not just backers.

If you need to contact us about a mistaken or missing shipment, please contact us directly. We've done a lot of campaigns, and messages directly on old campaign pages can sometimes be missed. We do NOT want to miss you. We want to be sure that all our backers get their rewards.

The Good, Bad, and Ugly of Shipping

Greetings, everyone!

Shipping Books: First of all, we want to apologize for our recent shipping SNAFU. We are appalled to hear that some of the book shipments were marked as “shipped” in the BackerKit system, when, in fact, they were no such thing. To be honest, I don’t know what caused the problem, but Make That Thing has caught it and is sorting it out.

Because of this, the volume of mail coming in through our online form has Chris a little swamped. Please do contact us if you’re worried about your shipment, but also, please be patient with us! We are wading through all the mail as fast as we can, and we will make sure you get your books.

Shipping Medals and Other Stuff: The good news is, the medals are here, and we are no longer waiting for anything. All the backer rewards are now shipping!

Shipping Original Art: Although the books and medals and things are shipping from Make That Thing, the original art ships straight out from our Studio. This means that my Mom and I are currently packing the art for mailing. Art level backers: I believe the system we’re using will give you an email notice and a tracking number, so watch for it sometime this week! I’ll post again when it’s all gone out.

MUNCHKIN! Last of all, Steve Jackson’s Munchkin Kickstarter has seven more days to go. This is a Girl Genius expansion for Munchkin Steampunk, and there is a lot of great extra stuff attached to the campaign, they’re doing coins and dice and level counters and Kill-O-Meters and everything! Please wander over and give it a look!

Girl Genius: Life of the Party medals

Finally, after several false starts, we have a prototype of the medal that we like. Actually, we love it! I’ve given the factory the go-ahead, and it’s going to production. Pins, charms and patches will all ship when the last of them makes it to us, probably in about a month if all goes well. I’ll let you all know more when there’s more to know.

Make That Thing has been sending out the books. They just got to me with some questions about the last few, so those should be going out soon too. I will post again when I know they've all gone out.

Books are Shipping!

I’ve heard from Make That Thing, and they tell me that the books are now shipping. Hooray!

Original art will ship later this month. We will be at the World Science Fiction Convention this week, and we’ll be doing our in-house shipping when we return.

The Life of the Party medals and pin reprints are progressing, but they aren’t done just yet. We should see shipping on those fairly soon, though. Getting the medal sculpting right is the hardest part, and this time, the pin makers have done a great job. I’ll let you all know when those arrive at the Studio.

Thank you all for your patience! We hit a few shipping snags again this time. No matter how much I learn from past campaigns, it seems there’s always something new. I hope the Envelopes of Madness are worth the wait!
